Coach Q&A
Q: Beyond coaching, what other experiences/achievements have you enjoyed within fencing?
A: Realizing that the local fencing community did not have a connection to the national fencing community, I started refereeing nationally in 2014. My goal is to bring knowledge and interpretation of the rules to the local community, and bring local competitions in line with national expectations. I have refereed all 3 weapons at national events.
Q: What goals do you have in your capacity at RFA?
A: My goal for RFA is to create a community where people can gather to fence and participate in the local and regional fencing community. I aim to provide an environment that caters to both those with a highly competitive nature and those who desire a fun hobby to get some physical activity into one's life. My goal for students is to provide a framework to develop athletically, mentally, and personally. I also aim to develop competitive drive and ability for those who have a strong determination to achieve.
